"Os objetivos do Roller Derby são relativamente simples. Cada equipe possui na pista um único patinador capaz de marcar pontos (“Jammer”), cujo objetivo é dar o maior número de voltas de possíveis nos patinadores do time oposto.
Os patinadores restantes, que não estão marcando pontos, trabalham tanto no ataque, quanto na defesa, ao mesmo tempo – para bloquear a Jammer oposta e abrir o caminho para sua própria Jammer.
Para ser bem jogado, o Roller Derby requer agilidade, força, velocidade, controle, visão periférica, comunicação e trabalho em equipe."

For the longest time, Baixo Augusta – the part of Rua Augusta that heads north-east towards the Centro – has had a gritty, low-rent atmosphere, and has been gradually mutating into one of the most exciting spots in town.
